Une Amourette : Leyman Lahcine
a limited edition artist collaboration
By his own admission ‘a dreamer’, Leyman Lahcine often spent time alone when younger, lost in his own mind and building his own world within his imagination. Born in France of Algerian heritage Leyman’s work is inspired by the diverse and sometimes conflicted cultures he grew up in. A move to New York in his early twenties opened his mind to the possibility of exploring his ideas through art, namely painting and drawing but also in fashion design and within a few years he had carved out a name for himself on the underground art scene.
"I always try to follow and trust my creativity so I stay loyal to my identity as an artist. Shaping a style that is personal to me is the most important aspect of being creative."
Leyman then moved to London for love and completed an MA in fashion design at Kingston university. Currently Leyman is exploring themes of childhood and nostalgia in a series of large canvases. He has taken a short break from this to collaborate with Roland Mouret on these beautiful limited edition perfume bottles exploring the innocence of the “Une Amourette” fragrance. Each illustration is hand-drawn onto the bottle by the artist, creating a distinctly unique and original aesthetic. One drawing depicts moons and stars, while another depicts hands and petals, capturing a playful and somewhat irreverent spirit.
