When Michele was modeling, there was so much about her that I was drawn to - she was so specific, underground, uncompromising, charismatic, the favourite of 'The Face'.
At the beginning of my career as a designer, I had such a strong relationship with her. I remember she did my first show and flew in especially for me from New York, and she arrived a half hour before the show and being Michele decided to wear a black organza dress with blue lipstick, and of course she was right.
I have never wanted to call women around me my muses. I avoid that. It is putting them on a pedestal, as though they are somehow static.
Michele, and women like her, though they are very rare indeed, brings a unique rhythm to my work, and a different life to their work. They are never static.
Ten years, Michele, a mother, model, actress, but even now in her eyes I still see the same glint of rebelliousness and she brings that to the collection for me
